The aim of the project is the civil society’s contribution to the strengthening of social dialogue on the topic of hiring discrimination against women from socially vulnerable groups (long-term unemployed, older than 40, Roma, persons with disabilities, refugees, IDPs, etc.) in the local communities of the region of Šumadija, in the municipalities of Kragujevac and Batočina, where there are still prejudiced opinions about stereotyped roles for men and women. These kinds of opinions, as well as the issues of age, race, sex, religion, etc., result in hiring discrimination in the labour market. The unequal treatment of the unemployed is socially unacceptable and economically harmful.

Survey research is one of the project activities whose aim is to collect information on women’s awareness of hiring discrimination and their ability to recognize and confront it. Through the planned training, women will be empowered and their knowledge and skills will be improved in order to successfully confront this type of discrimination. These activities will be implemented through three thematic workshops. Round tables will be organized with the aim to initiate a social dialogue on the topic of hiring discrimination against women with the participation of relevant stakeholders from the local community. During the project implementation, a campaign that will drawthe general public’s attention to the existence of this problem in the community and raise awareness about the need for a solution will be carried out.
